Cheshire Public Library Goes Punk!

cp-library_punk_1068

Forty years after John Holmstrom, Legs McNeil, and Ged Dunn left Cheshire, CT and moved to NYC to launch Punk Magazine, their hometown library features a summer punk rock display. The Cheshire Public Library in is touting their collection of punky records and books, seemingly unaware of the town’s connection to the genre.
They missed a couple of books.  Like:

The Best Of Punk MagazineTHE BEST OF PUNK MAGAZINE by JOHN HOLMSTROM

and of course

Ged Dunn was living in the apartment above Carringtons Pharmacy on the second floor of this building in Cheshire center. It was where John Holmstrom exposed Ged and and Legs McNeil to The Dictators “Go Girl Crazy”. Inspiration followed. Cheshire trivia. (Hank Tovar photro)
